# Course Introduction
> This course prepares you for the HashiCorp Certified Vault Operations Professional exam through theory, live demos, and hands-on practice.
Welcome to the HashiCorp Certified Vault Operations Professional certification course. In this lesson, we’ll combine theory, live demos, and hands-on practice to prepare you for the Vault Operations Professional exam.
## About the Instructor
I’m **Bryan Krausen**, Principal Consultant, author, and instructor specializing in HashiCorp tools and cloud architecture. With over 20 years in enterprise IT and five years working deeply with Vault at scale, I bring real-world insights to every topic.
I was the first to earn the HashiCorp Vault Expert Partner Certification and hold multiple Vault badges. Since 2020, I’ve served as a HashiCorp Ambassador and contributed to exam question and scenario development.

This is a **professional-level** course. You should already know Vault fundamentals:
* Storage backends, auth methods, secrets engines, audit devices
* Basic Vault operations in lab or production
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
* Answer multiple-choice questions on Vault Operations Professional topics
* Complete hands-on tasks on Vault nodes or clusters

## Exam Overview
This is a four-hour, online-proctored exam combining hands-on Vault configuration tasks with multiple-choice questions. You’ll be tested on deploying, configuring, managing, and monitoring Vault in real-world scenarios. Ideal candidates hold the Vault Associate certification or have equivalent production experience.
