Learning Linux Basics Course & Labs

The Client Demonstration

Finale

The team—Andrew, Bob, Donald, Amira, and Aditi—is celebrating the successful completion of Phase 1 of Project Mercury. Dave has also been invited to join the celebration. Excellent work, team!

Andrew announces, "Phase 1 of this project is now complete," while the clients express their impressive feedback from today's demonstration. Special congratulations go to Bob, with Donald adding, "Fine work indeed."

Bob receives praise for quickly mastering the basics of Linux. Dave teases him, "Perhaps it's time to further validate your Linux fundamentals? You already know more than 60% of the concepts." Bob considers this advice carefully, thinking, "I should consider getting certified before the next phase starts."

Before leaving, Donald speaks privately with Bob. He apologizes, "I am sorry, Bob. I haven't been able to contribute much in this phase because I've been working overtime every day for the past two months to get Project Sapphire over the line. However, I knew you could handle this by yourself—especially after the way you managed the escalation calls for Project Sapphire in the beginning."

Bob, both surprised and relieved, thanks him:
"Thanks, Donald. I can't thank you enough for all your assistance with troubleshooting. I couldn't have done it without you."

Donald continues with a smile, "With Phase 2 starting in a couple of weeks, you’ll see a lot more of my involvement. I am really looking forward to us working together." Mumshad Mannambeth adds, "Almost didn't recognize you there, Bob."

Startled from his daydream, Bob looks up and sees Dave waving at him while walking into the train compartment. On his way home, Bob’s mobile screen continues to glow with client appreciation emails, making him feel even more proud of his achievements.

"Hi, Dave. There's an empty seat here," Bob calls out, inviting Dave to sit down.

Dave explains, "I lost you after our little get-together. Did you have to go back to the office?"

"Sorry about that. Yeah, I had to leave in a hurry because I was asked to join an urgent infrastructure meeting," Dave answers as he sits beside Bob.

Dave continues, "Things are moving much faster than we anticipated. We are assembling a small pilot DevOps team for Phase 2 of Project Mercury."

Bob is amazed, "Wow, really?"

Dave confirms, "Yes, and I've been asked to lead it. And guess who I'm going to invite to join the team?"

Bob, excited by the opportunity to keep learning, replies with a smile, "More for me to learn!"

Dave adds casually, "Only if you're interested—no pressure."

"Absolutely!" exclaims Bob.

Continuous Growth

Take it from Dave: In this line of work, learning never stops. There are no limits to what you can achieve when you embrace the latest trends in technology, such as cloud computing and DevOps. Staying ahead of the curve is key to success.

Dave encourages him further, "Take it from me, Bob: in this line of work, the learning never stops. I always see it as a good thing. There are no limits to what you can achieve, my young friend. Things are changing rapidly every day, and it is essential that we adopt the latest trends in technology, such as cloud computing and DevOps." Mumshad Mannambeth also advises, "Keep up your current attitude. Stay ahead of the curve and you will go far."

"Thanks, Dave. I can't wait to get started!" Bob says excitedly.
